  • Have a good day at school, sweetie! Don't lose your 959 first aid kit!

    • Doug DeMuro Doug, you never. Show us you starting the cars, would love to have seen this one start up and pull off

    • +punkerchen maybe a thing only US-people make fun of ...

    • Doug DeMuro false sense of security and 911s from this era where and still are called “widow makers”

    • +α чσung lσnєr The 959 was directly pitched against the 288GTO, not the F40

    • You mean 914.

  • looks plastic

  • Awesome review! I made a plastic model of this car when I was a kid, so enjoyed learning about the features and quirks. Can’t believe you got over 700 thumbs down reviews. Some people are tough critics! Geesh! I dare any of them to make a better review in a 959 or even get a chance to do one.

  • "G" is for granny gear.

  • Ugliest steering wheel ever.

  • looks like a fancy clown car

  • someone please give him back his Shamwow

  • Doug, must be sick today .... Using US-tv Video Titles that are.... Accurate !!!!

  • Astonishing automobile. All of this and also faster than the F40 on the track.

  • Doug, you're wrong about Gelande gear. It was not meant for off-roading, actually it was a cheat made by Porsche to meet noise regulations. Car in first gear was to noisy, so they renamed first gear to "off-road", second to first and so on.

  • Still a more reliable off-roader than Land Rover.

  • Great review .

  • Which is this Porsche at 10:30 ??

  • theeeIIIIISSSS... what a fucking goon

  • I’ll take an honest to goodness car over a $1.5 million toy any day.

  • Doug is a dork. But he reminds me of Quentin Tarantino. Anyway nice car review. I appreciate the enthusiasm for the vehicle. It's a sweet ride. Kinda want to do two fat rails and ferris bueller that whip after watching this

  • 765 F40 owners gave the thumbs down.

  • Sure that first aid kit seems excessive until you realize that this car was designed for group B. All those bystanders😱

  • Lan-see-a? Launch-a? ...Interesting.

  • For me this is the best all around car ever built.

  • You took us for a ride in a 959. And the only thing I ever saw was your ugly skull. Wtf I'll never watch this shithole channel

  • 31:00 "I farted there wow." 😏

  • No car is worth more than $100k. Simple

  • They had something like 30 of these at Rennsport Monterey this year. Seemed to dull the exclusivity/excitement of this iconic car.

  • I thought they were only made in silver?

  • Glorified VW Beetle.

  • Hallo 👏👍👋

  • enough about small back seats Demuro, 2 seater cars are taxed more than 4 seaters, everyone knows this

  • I bet the extra 2 mph of the sport model has more to do with the slightly less drag of the missing mirror than it has to do with weight reduction. Weight has less to do with top speed than drag does, especially when the weight difference is relatively small.

  • I remember dreaming about this car a long time ago. Now, I am glad I didn't realize all of it's potentials till now. Absolutely amazing car. Especially, all that tech that is has. Adjustable height, 6 speed gear box(kind of), AWD, plus many more. Since, it's almost the end of 2018. Could you do a favorites of 2018 video?

  • If you pay 1.5 mil for this out dated frog car you're smoking dick

  • "Lancha" Nice on Doug

  • I have never seen a plastic VIN plate. They’re all metal and riveted to the car

  • I never knew about the off road ability on this car besides them being used in the Paris Dakar. The 959 is literally the perfect car.

  • Great car apart from aesthetics. One of the most ugliest supercars ever made.

  • There is basically a fun fact behind the G-gear. Since in Germany at this time it was regulated to measure the loudness of a car in third gear at a specific speed and Porsche could not meet the requirement they decided to redefine first gear. That meant they could measure the loudness in forth gear (labeled as 3) legally... also the spokes of the wheels are hollow since the tire pressure measuring system is installed in the hub.

  • It's Rare... but is it worth more than a turbine helicopter :)

  • Doug the type of guy to steal a free sample.

  • That Porsche is a total stunner. Gorgeous lines and attention to detail, especially for an 80's car.

  • If there’s a label of it. It’s happened before.

  • After seeing the Rothmans logo on the race car, I now feel like smoking 4 1/2 packs. Off to the shops, I go.

  • I got a Porsche ad, this is wack

  • Lol is there a back seat?

  • Doug you need to find and try Saab 900 turbo first generation

  • t h e h o l e

  • Prosche 959? Please... i own 3...

  • 11:47 worst german pronoucement ever:D im german, and i understood the english version betterthan the german haha. Gelände is the word hes tryin to tell:D anyway. still great video like always

  • @Dougdemuro , there is a 1995 Acura Legend Type 2, 2 door tan leather. 101k It's located in Texas. Go check it out

  • Rims look like Supra rims 🤔

  • Doug the type of guy to type the doug guy

  • 4:43 the demonic dough reflections are quite disturbing.

  • I have a 996 turbo and a friend has a 1988 Targa. Interesting to see the details on the 959, very much a combination of the technology and features of each car. And I had no idea the 959 had so much technology for the time! Awesome video Doug!

  • in Germany it is compulsory to have a first aid certificate before you get your driving license. This is why there is a first aid in all German cars.

    • Holy shit for real? Was this in 1985 also? Cause that is nice! Over here they just learn to flip people off...

  • Such an ugly car

  • PorschE. It ends with "E" not "A" is it that hard for Americans to pronounce it properly?

    • I'm surprised you are not pronouncing it Porscheee...

  • We've seen people walk right past other Porsches and exotics to gawk over this beast. Love seeing them from time to time.

  • Doug all cars in European Union needs standard t first aid kit DIN 13164

  • Why are parts so hard to source?! Porsche Classic Parts will either stock every single part for the 959 or will happily produce it. They’ve been very open about the service and take pride in having every 959 made still on the road.

  • I love Porsche. I always have since the late 60's but in the end it's just a car. The world's literally falling apart and car's aren't all that important.

  • Please get a Saleen S7 and do your thing!

    • Fuck yea!

  • Sry as German I´m a bit biased towards German car brands and especially our most important models in history, but this car was and still is a diamond... its a real dream car. Btw. On the little plate in the front you´ve seen that it´s from the Dr.Ing.H.C. F.Porsche A.G (Doctor Engineer honoris causa Ferdinand Porsche incorporated company) May god rest his soul. The original price of this car was 420.000,00 Deutsche Mark ( 1DM = 0,511292EUR) = 214.742,64 Euros = 243.824.85 USD - At the same time, a Volkswagen Beetle 1200 was available for around 11.200,00 Deutsche Mark.

  • ugly

  • I want to see this guy review cars side by side with Quentin Tarantino.

  • Stuff like this is ridiculous. Why would I pay 1.5 million for an old crappy Porsche when I can spend a little over 100K for a brand new one.

  • If that was my 959 .... not even Doug would have his hands on it

  • *spits cereal out of my mouth meme" 460 something horsepower on an inline 6... in the 80s!!! I never knew this car was an I6 I always thought it was a V8

    • I6 flat 6 v6, my point was that it's weird that a 6 cylinder engine could produce 460 hp it's crazy

    • I think it’s more impressive that it reaches almost 200mph with only 460 hp

    • It was never an inline 6. Its a flat 6

    • It's a flat-6

  • I would most certainly tell a 959 from 911.

  • Doug is the type of guy to take a live lobster from a restaurant, make friends with it, reviews its quirks and features, plus give it a doug score, then butterfly it, throw it on a hot grille and dab a slash of butter through the middle.

  • The bachseats in Porsches from that era are nice they actually get hot if the engine is hot :D

  • I'm impressed of this overload of quircks and features!!! I haven't expacted this much for an old Porsche.

  • Automotive masterpiece.

  • plz make on merc g63 amg

  • My guess is that the first aid kit was intended for the desert race version and Porsche hada bunch of kits made so they decided to equip all 959s with them. You needed to write your name on them so that other 959 drivers did not grab yours by mistake if the kits were all being used such as in a crash. And you needed a ton of medical gear in the kit because a crash during the Paris Dakar race would likely have occurred way out in the desert far from any help.

    • Ingle Ringlet-Snipps 3rd its a mandatory think in Germany. Or was

  • I gotta say, nothing caught my eye as much as that shag rug in the trunk.

  • You need to swap out the F40 referencing to the 288GTO which is its direct competitor - both were homologated for Group B, but Ferrari didn't go ahead with it because Fiat weren't interested. The 288 is way more of a road car like the 959, rather than the street-legal, stripped-out track car that is the F40.

  • Doug my friend , dont mix bi turbo and twin turbo .

  • Galand😂 it means Gelände

  • Finally!!!!

  • Has group b flashbacks

  • If there is a car that you can call ahead of it's time, this is it. Amazing how many features of today's sportscars the 959 had 30 years ago. Like adjustable suspension and stuff like that.

  • Doug, you are wrong about the steering wheel. Looks aren't everything, this wheel is one of the best wheels ever produced by any manufacturer. The shape and feel is organic and gives the driver total control and confidence over the vehicle. I was lucky to own a 944 Turbo S with the same wheel...... very special. Not shit like most of your opinions. Doug, you are a moron, but a lovable moron. Keep up the good work!

  • Too much talk not enough go...

  • A cartoonesque shaped car. Straight out of Disney world.

  • Looks ugly.

  • I guess it was literal cars and coffee. #puns.

  • I thought it was a regular 15-20 minute video. Just threw my afternoon nap out of the window ('-_-)

  • I've changed my mind ... Doug ...You are soooo cool ! Keep up these outstanding and informative video's . Thanks !

  • My original supercar fantasy!

  • This car has all the suspension tricks in my dream supercar.

  • Back in 1980's i bought the same car in gray color but in a model type , and it was so beautiful car back then and still is , nothing changed

  • If most people don't know and don't care... It's not really an icon, now is it.

  • that's one of the butt ugliest cars I've ever seen. seriously....what a cheesy looking piece of shit

  • Masterpiece, the car not you Doug

  • f u doug that wheel is sexy af

  • Taking money from Porsche and sponsors give you no rights to rate

  • doug, take it off road. NO BALLS. U WONT

  • Doug is the kinda guy who just gave me a Doug score of 1 for this comment.

  • R stands for Rocket while G stands for Gotta go fast.

  • Wearing decent headphones, the engine and road sounds are extremely vivid. I kinda wanted you to stop talking just to listen, as the versimilitude of the sound was dramatically effective.

  • I thought I just liked the 959 as the cool 80's supercar from Porsche, I never really read anything about it or watch anything about it really. I knew there was rally versions, but I thought they were just modified version, when you show the hydraulic suspension I just felt in love. I live in Canada an 4 wheel car are a must here, but my dream car every time i think what car I would make if I was a car producer or if I had fuck you money is a 2 door sport car with 4 wheel drive and raised suspension. This is everything I ever wanted a car to be, sad that it's a 1.5 million collector car. Even if I had the money, I would like to be able to drive that car without the fear to destroy something so rare.
