  • Where's the scam part? XD The things he said are true for everything: PCs, Cars, Appliances... And it's really simple: You don't like it - you don't buy it XD

  • Does he explain why there are so many mattress outlets?

  • Same for tires, etc etc

  • This dude is annoying af. Peace.

  • When I moved to the United States, I was shocked at the amount of mattress stores there were and the ridiculous prices. In England, I don’t think I’d ever seen an additional box mattress before. Yet here was this pointless, massive extra expense.

  • We don't need a 1k+ mattress. If you do some research you'll know that for the average person, mattresses that are too soft is bad for your body, so I put a 3" memory foam mattress($200) on a hard surface and my back has never felt better. It gives you enough cushion without your whole body sinking into the mattress distorting your spine. That's how the Japanese people has done for centuries sleeping on a futon on the hard floor

  • Being someone who has been in the industry for 12 years in a variety of capacities I can say, 100%spot on. I can say also that where you buy the mattress has everything to do with how much you pay. Go to mattress firm, get a Simmons beauty rest black hybrid, your going to pay out the nose. Go to some little mom and pop selling their unadvertised brand with the same features and it's a fraction of the cost. Just like with any consumer good you pay something for the name. One of the worst things consumers do to themselves is ask the salesperson what they recommend, and 9 times out of 10 it will be the most expensive model on the floor. The folks I am with take a different tact, we ask questions designed to lead you to the comfort level which is the best fit for you. One of the ways mattress salesmen get over is with their "sleep guarantee" which is worthless and which is really designed to drag even more money out of you. Another is with the warranty, first off true warranty defects are actually rare based upon how these are uniformly written across the industry. Having been someone who has dealt with the sales and warranty sides of the equation I can say 98% of warranty complaints truly are perception and comfort issues. But those are not what are actually going to be considered true manufacturing defects, and to be honest on a vast majority of claims that do actually meet those thresholds 95+% of the time there will be something that will disqualify the claim such as a improperly supported frame, stains, or my favorite, using the old box spring. No matter which side of the equation I have been on my advice is still the same. Find the mattress that seems like the best fit for the back and the pocket book and if you have two models you like equally just go with the lower price option because you have to be just that much more less right.

  • They said "mattress" so many times, it no longer sounded like a word. Is that really what they're called? I don't know anymore!

  • Best matress I have ever had was just a simple foam one costing 100$ bought here in Norway, now 20 years later I am still using it. In between I have tried expensive onces costing 20 - 30 times more but non have been as good...

  • I'm about to make a series called ruining Adam...

  • lol what are those people doing at 5:34 ;)

  • This wasnt comedy! We learned.

  • i'm sure there must be lots of money in mattresses. You've got these stores in strip malls with big SALE signs on the window. There's some East Indian guy in there telling you how great the deals are and he'll THROW IN a mattress cover to boot! I bought there but didn't believe a word the guy was telling me. And the so called warranty he game me probably isn't worth the paper its written on

  • Um. I don't see how any of this is unique to the mattress industry. Sounds like we're just describing capitalism in general.

  • Did not mention that many off the online companies have 30 to 60 day full return policies.

    • Mattresses cost a lot to ship. I did a return from a local brick and mortar and was out $100 or so for shipping. Imagine the cost to ship a mattress to another state. Always check to see the cost to return the product, before you buy.

  • Ok? And? Lol Also who haggles these days? Unless it's for a car or a house, no haggling goes on. Just buy the damn thing haha

  • I can tell you right now I purchased my mattress on wayfair. It came in a box like Casper and was only $200. It’s the best thing I’ve ever slept on. Idk know the brand but it does say aloe Vera on it.

  • What about those "Purple" mattresses? Are THEY a rip-off too? Or did I just answer my own question!

  • yo is season two on netflix yet?

  • Contents of this video do not reflect my first thought upon reading thumbnail's title "Adam ruins mattresses" - total clickbait, reported

  • There are so many mattress stores I totally believe the conspiracy that some are laundering tons of money. I mean when have you ever seen someone in a mattress store or been in one other than just to browse. How often do people even buy mattresses? No way there is enough demand to require like 8 "Mattress Firms" In a ten mile radius?

    • That is partially true, but mattresses stores rarely sell mattresses. You go to the groceries and you can walk away with a can of beans. You usually can't do that with a store that sells box spring mattresses. The product gets shipped from a warehouse and most of those stores are probably getting those mattresses from the same warehouse.

  • This doesn't change anything. After watching this I'm just back to square 1 of "oh darn mattresses are expensive"

  • Buzzfeed unsolved gettin' called tf out!

  • mattress review

  • Mattresses suck balls dude, No joke just sleep on the floor.

  • IKEA - what about their mattresses?

  • In Germany a store owner came up with the idea of making his own after being fed up with all the bullshit of the suppliers. Called it anti cartel mattress. Instantly won in neutral tests, had the same quality as multi thousand euro premium ones for a couple hundred bucks. He was bombarded with lawsuits and even direct sabotage with foam suppliers suddenly sending dirty foam to his small new factory or dropping out of delivering directly. He still sells them. Under a different name - caused by a lawsuit filed by the very mattress cartel he fought against.

  • Buy it from another country and get it shipped there.

  • joke's on them I'll just sleep on the floor!

  • Some of his episodes are a joke and totally off base. The Gun Control one was horrid.

  • I just sleep in a hammock :)

  • Adam keeps exposing difference instances of bad practices instead of targeting the source of the real problem..capitalism..i mean you can't exhaust all of the infinite possibilities..just aim at the root

  • Adam can sleep on rocks

  • So I guess I’m just gonna buy my mattresses from habitat for humanity/goodwill now 🤔

  • Everything was fine except the part about comparison shopping when buying online. Most of the online companies provide you with a trial period during which you can return the mattress.

  • I think I know why Adam didn't mention Purple; he can't ruin it.

  • His hair just ruined my day.

  • Yea. You’re 90% wrong. But good try.

  • yep, and that is why I sleep on the floor!

  • I'd say just buy whatever you felt was comfortable and fits your budget.

  • another unfunny zionist wanker using his oath to his advantage. tick tok

  • Go to ikea

  • This entire show is one steaming pile of leftist lies. Look it up yourselves people.

  • I see Freddy Mercury has been reincarnated into a mattress con artist.

  • The chick looks like someone put Anna Farris in the microwave

  • I feel so smart when I pass on this information as my own.

  • Seems like adam ruins everything is running out of topics

  • 3:08 uhh... what.

  • No wonder I can't sleep

  • That podcast sketch

  • We have a different mattress company in orlando where they make it here

  • Except half his facts are cherry picked the other half easily debunked bullshit. No I didn't watch the video I just think he is a assclown

  • Ha! Found a website that delivers all the parts for a mattress. Customized my own mattress and got a latex topper off amazon. (Queen) All for $400. Then learned a ton, ordered for my parents and got them a king for $380. Same type of mattress is over 1500 since it’s a layered 3” high density foam(firm), 1” memory foam in middle, 2” latex on top. They love it!

  • Ahhh, that lil meme at the end was great. Nice job.

  • I'm actually surprised I didn't see a reference to how Casper created Purple attack reviews from that site, made fake videos, then Purple won the lawsuit.

  • I got mine from Ikea, 350$ pocket spring pretty happy

  • This matress has a copy of Half Life Thr- *SOLD*

  • lol mfw i wouldnt have even thought about this.

  • In Germany, we have a guy who sells the “anti-cartel mattress” (Anti-Kartell-Matratze) for exactly this reason. He gets harassed quite a lot by the cartel, always only proving his point. While his mattress tests the best our official consumer product quality testing foundation (Stifung Warentest) has ever tested, for 10 years straight. At about ⅓ of the price. They last way longer too, as big mattress manufacturers intentionally use low-quality foams that break down in a matter of 2-5 years, no matter their density, even though much better foams are available.

  • My life is a lie 0>0

  • how did they get permission to film this in a mattress store xD

  • We got a purple and do love it. The platform didnt squeak but after a few months it did just like any other.

  • Wonder when Adam is going to ruin the IRS

  • Purchased a memory foam mattress from a foam place in my state. Spent around 300 on it a few years ago for a queen. Feels just as nice as the day I got it. Although, my time in the Military has made me able to sleep just about anywhere, so take my experience with a grain of salt.

  • I thought the suit guy was the guy from that movie where the guy says no one is chasing you at the end scrne(forgot the name)

  • Umm, I bought a Casper right when they came out. A full size for $650 shipped. They gave a 100 night test out, I slept like a baby on it and never went back. My brothers both spent thousands and my casper is better. Sometimes Adam is wrong.

  • Damit Adam Conover. 2 Of My Favorite US-tvrs Partner Casper. They Have Discounts

  • A nightmare? What a dumb _blanket_ statement. My $130 queen from Amazon is amazing.

  • I like anti scam Adam better than political adam

  • Was that a " the Haunting of hill house" reference at the very end?

  • Have had my bed and mattress for 14 years. Still as soft as when it was new. Go for quality or go to the store again and again.

  • A matress is a matress and the majority of people don't even give a shit about this whole thing

  • I fucking love the ending to this.

  • Pretty much. I work at a furniture store that sells mattresses and they are all very similar. Just buy what's cheapest and most comfortable. Mattress margins are insane too.

  • Monopolies are caused by government regulation. The companies themselves only gain monopoly control by benefiting from government regulation through lobbying.

  • The title of this though 😂👌

  • So... what does that make purple then?

  • Tech companies and media companies are no better.

  • Haunting on Hill House who?

  • Honestly, people who buy into this shit deserve to get conned.

  • god that comment about weird ass true crime podcast ppl i love!!!

  • Anyone else shit their pants at the end?

  • Casper = Tuft & Needle, right?

  • I got my memory foam mattress cut by size from a sofa manufacturer. Single layer of desired density foam... works great

  • My god. Who wrote the dialog for this? Five year olds?

  • Idk if everyone has this option, but I bought my mattress from St Vincent DuPaul thrift store, they sell brand new factory-second mattresses for cheap. I got a queen size for 225. It's an ordinary spring mattress but the same one would have been triple that price at a mattress store. Never pay full retail for anything, ever.

  • I ruined a hotel mattress once.

  • Jesus fuckig christ that ending, man.

  • just go to the thrift store

  • Ruin printer ink cartridges

  • I love this show. I’m so glad they put it on Netflix.

  • I always rip off the tags OOPS

  • Hammock

  • What I learned from this: Get a job in a mattress store.

  • I've been sleeping on a pile of dead puppies for years, and I've never had a more comfortable night's sleep. The only problem is having to replace them weekly, because they start to decompose pretty quickly.

  • Ruin video games

  • I bought a $100 mattress from Walmart and use foam toppers on it. It’s more comfortable than my parents $1500 mattress.

  • you guys try too hard now

  • :1 why do these people want to ruin my sleep. >:(
