  • Finally a fix to the spreading cookies! Tried to make halloween cookies last year and the pumpkin looked like a damn basketball by the time I was done baking.

  • it did not work i got every thing but nope i am really mad i did try again but nope i am not a hater so dont worry

  • There's no other waybto make a butter cookie 🤣

  • The background music tho.…..

  • Please don’t waste your time on this recipe. When I first read out how much butter they wanted me to add, I literally gasped. 3 sticks of butter, really? I’m America, and even for me that’s way to much. If you are going to make this, DONT add the cream of tartar. It’s disgusting and way too bitter. I tried this recipe 2 times. The first time, I did every single thing they told me to in the video. Once again, that was a complete fail, because the cream of tartar tasted like ass. I decided that I would try it a second time, but this time I didn’t put it in the fridge, and I also didn’t add the cream of tartar. Still turned out horrible. The “cookie” wasn’t even a cookie, it was just dry, crumbled, dough. It tasted like salt, sugar, and uncooked flour. Not even in a good way, just gross. If you actually wanna make some good cookies go to the dollar store and buy a bagged Betty Crocker cookie mix. It’s not the most impressive thing, but at least you know it’s going to look and taste good.

  • Dang this is a little complicated compared to just making cookies, you make it way more then it has to be, just roll your cookies, cut them and cook them mannnnnnnnnnn 🤦

  • Cocomelon

  • I made these cookies and I got like a really buttery mess but I might of did something wrong so I don’t know

  • Is there an alternative for cream cheese?

  • I think those rings on the rolling pins are to prevent you from rolling the dough until it’s too thin. I could be wrong.

  • Can someone tell me why my "dough" keeps on coming out as slime? I use the exact methods but switched the sugar here with cane sugar and also i do not use the baking powder. What is wrong with my dough? Is it those ingredients? Am i using to little butter, flour, sugar? Am i using the mixer for too long?

  • Does anyone knows how much of egg whites to add for the royal icing please let me know A.S.A.P thank you

  • You make every thing look so clean and nice and productive

  • Instead of adding water why not try milk to make the icing sweeter

  • If u like Christmas put a like and if u don’t than

  • I actually made these for my family.. took me 2 days to finish them but they were the best cookies I’ve ever had. I totally recommend.

  • Who is that?

  • 1 1\2 cup of butter = ?g

  • Hi

  • 🍒

  • Is there any substitution for cream cheese

  • Thanks! It is a great recipe. BUT, I’m so frustrated! I’ve tried 3 times this type of cookies. And never will I get the dough consistency like yours. Is not firm. It melts so fast. What tips you can give me? Can the temperature in my place be a factor? I do these recipes w my kids and is no fun for them when things don’t look like the video. HELP!

  • Please dont add cream of tartar, they tasted so bitter and acidic. I tried it without it and they tasted better.

  • I tried this recipe twice, thinking that the first time I had made some sort of mistake since the dough was far too soft and sticky. Nope, both times the recipe didn't come out right. Anyone have luck with this recipe?

  • Do someone knows what is cream of tartar in Spanish and where can I find it

So delicious!!!! Thank you Tasty! This will be my go to recipe for years to come! Happy holidays! 🎄🎅🏼⛄️

  • Terrible recipe. Tasted awful. It was fun to decorate the cookies, but I ended up just throwing everything away.

  • I usually put the almond extract in the frosting

  • Merry Christmas to whoever sees this!!!!

  • INGREDIENTS Sugar Cookies 1½ cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 1½ cups granulated sugar 1½ ounces (3 tablespoons) cream cheese, softened 1 large egg 2 large egg yolks 1 teaspoon McCormick vanilla extract ½ teaspoon McCormick almond extract 1 teaspoon kosher salt 3½ cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting ½ teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons cream of tartar Royal Icing 4 cups powdered sugar ½ teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ¼ cup pasteurized egg whites Gel food coloring of choice Water, as needed PREPARATION Make the cookie dough: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and cream cheese with an electric hand mixer on high speed for about 5 minutes, until fluffy and the sugar is mostly dissolved. Scrape down the bowl as needed to evenly beat the mixture. Add the egg, egg yolks, vanilla, and almond extract and mix well, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add the salt, then sift the flour, baking powder, and cream of tartar into the bowl and fold to incorporate some of the flour, then beat on low speed, just until incorporated and the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a flat disc and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or up to 3-4 days. When ready to bake the cookies, preheat the oven to 350˚F (180˚C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the dough from the fridge and let sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the cookie dough with a rolling pin to ¼-inch thick. Dip cookie cutters of your choice in some extra flour and cut out shapes from the dough. Gather any excess dough into a ball, chill in the fridge to firm, then re-roll and cut out more cookies. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and chill for at least 20 minutes to ensure they hold their shapes. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges just barely start to turn golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating with royal icing or frosting. To make the royal icing, sift the powdered sugar into a large bowl and add the salt. On one side of the bowl, add the vanilla and egg whites. Where you added the liquids, begin whisking the powdered sugar into the liquids, gathering a bit more as you whisk to prevent lumps from forming, until all of the powdered sugar is incorporated. Add food coloring, if desired, and whisk to incorporate. You can divide the icing into smaller bowls to make more than one color. At this point, the icing should be a good consistency for piping borders. If you’d like the frosting to be looser to flood or dip your cookies, add a few tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency. Decorate the cookies as desired. Enjoy!

  • I'm sorry but I just made these rn on Christmas eve and they tasted horrible. I followed the recipe 100% so I know it wasn't because of a mistake on my side. Will not be making these again. I'll stick to simpler recipes that are reliable

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Is cream of tartar compulsory

  • i’m sorry but these were so bad.... the cookie came out in perfect shape BUT the flavor is not the best... it’s pretty terrible actually. it’s acidic and somewhat salty, i’m not sure if it’s because of the creme of tartar or the kosher salt but something was off and no one liked them :(

  • I just finished making this recipe. First off, it said it'll make 1-2 dozen cookies, depending on size. I came out with 45 cookies. So that's a plus Second, this cookie isn't for everybody, depending what you're looking for. They are not sweet tasting (on their own). I think this is a perfect tasting cookie to pair with the icing. Taking this tangy, almost savory cooking, and icing it gives you amazing contrast. They are not like the classic "sugar cookies" but in my opinion, it's better than pairing a sweet with a sweet and ending up with it tasting sickly.

  • Tried it love it, my hubby and neighbors loved it.

  • I made these and they were so soft and gooey, I had to add 1/2 cup more of flour. I refrigerated overnight thinking that would fix it. It didn’t. I was able to roll out, place my cutters there but no way to get them off the silicone sheet. They just melted in, I ended up forming into balls and smashing down to be able to even use the dough. I guess there was another 1/2 cup flour added just to be able to work with them. They look terrible. I bought a lot of sprinkles, cookie cutters for Christmas and 4 lbs of confectioners sugar, not to mention the time I spent watching the video and shopping and never decorated the first cookie because the dough was wrong. There was no more time left to start a new recipe. That’s what I get for trusting a US-tv Video. After the fact, I went to the blog and the reviews there were all bad except for one. I wish I had done that to begin with.

    • I made this recipe twoce! My experience both times with like yours!! 😰

    • I used this recipe as well, but I didn't have any issues. The consistency was stellar and the taste was good. I would use a bit less cream of tartar next time, however. Did you make sure refrigerated the dough before rolling it out? Most cookie doughs are too sticky to work with at room temp and cooling them is key. Sorry it didn't work out for you; that's so frustrating.

    • Agreed!

  • That's AMAZING!!! Thank you so much 💗💗💗

  • Yo

  • Really useful tips.
