I need a fix on a cracked pool pipe. After having a 2 professional plumbers and a pool guy come out and tell me the cost to fix this, From $300 to $500. I decided to TEST a bandaid for a couple months before I replace everything. The Backflow valve is actually not sold anymore anyway so I will have to replace it sometime when I replace the whole pump and filter system. Will this Flex tape product, as seen on tv, actually work? I have my doubts but lets see. Is it worth the incredible price tag? Since FLEX SEAL does NOT work in the ARIZONA Heat we needed something thicker and stronger that wouldn't decompose and crack under the heat of the SUN.

  • They're 2 ways that I know of that should fix that permanently. 1) Pick up some Marine grade epoxy sealer or regular epoxy. Spread open the crack slightly with something like a clamp or whatever works for you and fill the crack with the epoxy. Then. release the clamp, let the pipe close and epoxy the outside making sure the epoxy excreted from the crack closing is incorporated with the epoxy on the outer pipe. 2) Use a plastic welder to actually fix it. And no, I don't want to punch you in the face. You seem like a cool guy that's nice enough to take time out of your day to help other people. Peace bro!

  • You could of used flex seal

  • I use flex seal spray and didn't seal a hole

  • What you cut the flex tape with ✂

  • I'm pool guy your pool system sucks I can hear the bearings in the pump, the filter is beat and that multi port valve style are garbage

  • Ive had a problem like that and used marine epoxy to fix it. If the tape doesnt work for some, I would recommend trying marine epoxy.

  • You could have used a pipe cement for that particular material and then maybe flex taped over it?

  • Wouldn’t it have been easier to use Flex Seal? “NOW THAT’S A LOT OF DAMAGE”

  • Well everybody's got a crack on there back flow valve !😁

  • There is a spray on sealant

  • Thank you Now go fix that plumbing leak Thank you Thank you

  • GOOD JOB AMIGO .......THIS IS YOUR POINT OF VIEW AND I RESPECT ...IM GOING TO DO SOME WORK OVER A/C UNIT CONNECTION YOU GAVE ME SOME CLUES TO DO THAT WORK...THANKS

  • U Should have bought it from the real store.

  • 2 words jb weld

  • Grey rtv works well but I wanna use this product just to test a few things out and see how it does

  • Who came from pewds channel?😂

  • You should of sawed a boat in half

  • UPDATE: I did this as a bandaid until I was able to purchase new equipment. It worked for what I needed. It lasted 1 year. I since have gotten a new pump and and new filter system which was the original plan all along. Everything has been replumbed. Surprisingly it worked for a year.

  • are you aaron kyros dad

  • just replace that cracked pipe

  • Flex tape doesn't work , I tried today and it didn't work .

  • Wondering if its still holding..great review.

  • #LiquidCondoms

  • Damn I don’t t want to punch u n the face or hate u just wanted to say u could be keen stars brother or cousin.

  • what the hell kind of pool you have with a set up like that?

  • It may work for specific instances, but when applied by one person (me) in my back yard, on a garden hose that had a blown out the side, it failed. I wrapped it long-ways, it squirted out the ends and the center. I covered the leaks with more, same thing. It *may* be good for temporary repairs on some things, but frankly if Im going to spend $20 on tape I may as well just spend another $20 for a new hose.

  • Flex seal will be your friend there.

  • I think, for this scenario, Flex Shot might have been better.

  • Next time maybe if you just sprayed all those pipe with the liquid flex seal maybe it would work better.

  • Try Flex Seal

  • THEY DELL A DRILL BIT TO RHEEM OUT THE PVC HUB . AT HDEPOT AND WALMART 15BUCKS THEN JUST REPAIR AS NEEDED . U WILL B ABLE TO DRILL ANY HUB OUT SO SHORT PIECES DO NOT MATTER . I AM A PLUMBER . THIS MIGHT SAVE U SOME CASH IF ALL ELSE IS GOOD

  • Now cut an aluminum boat in half tape up and see if it works.

  • Flex seal try iy

  • Cool It works! Cheer's🍻

  • Nice pool

  • @Our Monkeys Our Circus i am willing to bet the original flex seal spray would have sealed your leak just fine as well since the spray form would have sealed into the crack not just seal over it like the tape does. but either way great job and nice to see how the product works in a real life application. :) P.S. if i ever see you i can guarantee that i would not punch you in the face. ;D

  • JB weld....For sure... Then throw some tape over it if your paranoid.

  • Five Feet of Flextape for HOW MUCH? When a SIX Dollar Tube of PC Marine Would have fixed the problem. Plus IF your crack is on the side of a screw hole, you can Tap the PC Marine After it's cured (@ an hour, depending upon the temp). Marine Tex is another product which would have fixed this dudes problem.... & STill CHEAPER than this tape!!! & if all else failed, just use some epoxy resin fiberglass, issue Solved!!!! ...(especially on the inside where the "O" ring goes. Why do SO MANY people today (NOT talking about this guy's efforts here) have NO common sense, no logic, no ability to "Think about" their problem, to look for a solution, without just tearing parts out, throwing them in the landfill & buying MORE Chinese CRAP? There is ONE Thing to Notice in this video... Who the H*LL "Designed" the "system" to where the joints were So Close together that EACH one couldn't be replaced individually to start with???

  • I wouldn't count on the tape to hold pressure indefinitely. I don't think it's designed for that. It's obviously good stuff. But it's not something I'd rely on to hold air/hydraulic pressure long term. Could you give us an update after 1 year?

  • That fix is truly amazing. I thought you would have had to wrap the tape all the way around the pipe a couple of times to get it to seal. Can't believe it worked as a simple patch.

  • Last year, I dropped my 4 gal , pump up sprayer a caused it to crack. A sprayed the crack with the clear flex seal spray, 2 or 3 layers, and it lasted all year. I haven't tried it, yet, this spring but I need to get rid of some weeds so I guess I'll find out, soon, if it still holds pressure.

  • Think the spray would have worked better. But glad you got it going. Don't get why your getting hate comments, but haters going hate.

  • It cost 6$ to get a Uber from your left eye to your right eye

  • A hose clamp and a piece of rubber, plumbers have been doin it since hose clamps and rubber were available to buy.

  • dude, they make a spray form. its amazing man if you still have the leak by the screw spray that sucker down in a little over an hour you will be good to go man

  • SLICK MARKETING: In the ole days Gypsy's used to roam about soliciting homeowners they could fix driveways with concoctions they kept secret, typically of oatmeal, carbon black, and goop, taking peoples money and sneaking away in the night. Flex spray and the flex tape product ain't much different in that they do not pass the test of time, the manufacturer tells you upfront this is a TEMPORARY REPAIR, cause they know it won't pass the test of time. Solvent based rubber sprays are toxic and after the solvent evaporates it leaves a rubber film that over time starts cracking and failing. Check out us-tv.org/tv/video-dzq-0bPPNHs.html . Seems like all you need to become a millionaire these days are slick videos with amazing repairs shown and a little fine print disclaimer that it's only a temporary repair (we were just kiddin guys, - - did you REALLY think this would last ?). It's a band-aid type solution, so just be aware.

  • 1st of All, this video does not show what happens 6 months or even 1 year down the road. This flex tape is merely what they call self amalgamating tape (sticks to itself), based on mousetrap glue, like polybutene or polyisobutylene formula, VERY sensitive to heat and to any oil or grease which will dissolve it and render it useless. The demonstrations by this company are all done and shown on the instant, but poor suckers don't get to fast forward 6 months and see if product is still holding. I have permanently repaired leaks like this by sanding the entire pipe round pipe with coarse sandpaper and using epoxy coated fiberglass cloth tape to wrap around 4 or 5 times.

  • I think the key thing is to put the tape on the inside of the cracked pipe where the pressure will push against it rather than letting the pressure blow the tape off if placed on the outside '

  • Why would anyone send death threats on a flex tape video? Ppl are so wierd. This stuff is actually good. Thanks for the video.

  • But you didn't stick a brick onto a beam... :-/

  • Plast-aid. This will permanently fix your problem for less than $20.

  • You need flex seal not flex tape

  • Phil is my dad please send help our home is held together with flex tape and seal and he is a raging alcoholic and cocaine addict :/

  • Bullshit video, replacing the damaged pipes is no big or costly item,Fix it properly,Flex tape seal whatever is a temporary fix,and it is marketed junk, just sayin.'Fix it properly.

  • why buy expensive things if you can just use flex tape and make a better version of it

  • flex tape makers nervously watching this this 😬

  • what's the surprise ending? thumbs up?
