  • Hey guys! Today is a compilation video of the 30 15 minute decluttering projects I did every day in August. I hope that it provides you with the cleaning or decluttering motivation and music for cleaning that you might be looking for. My motto for this month was progress over perfection. I will keep perfecting our space to try to achieve more simple living over this next year and this is just the beginning!

    • Love those bunkbeds. Would you share where you got them?

  • are you moving? if not its kinda sad thoughthat you guys wont have anything on the walls at all? (family photos & moments make a home feel like a home ya know😉 & i wish more peole would narrate along during the vlog what theyre doing cuz then it helps & inspires me to stop watching and just listen along and get off my own butt to do some cleaning😉👌🏼

    • I know what you mean about wall art making a home! We are moving! Thanks for watching!!!

  • Very inspiring

  • Ugh videos like this are so annoying. Did you even read Marie Kondo's book? Don't call it Konmari if it's not Konmari. Stop trying to inflate your view figures with false advertising.

    • I have read the book and we did her system to the letter over 5 years ago. This is just maintenance! It’s a compilation of projects I did on my channel over one month. Thanks for watching Ally!

  • Thanks. 15 mins?! I would still have all the stuff over the floor and still be sorting! I read the Kon Marie method but it doesn’t really resemble your way I don’t think. She doesn’t do a room or cupboard at a time. Eg she does all clothes first, from any area in house, same with paper work - the WHOLE lot together and takes quite a time. Good idea though to get started me much done by allocating a time limit. Thanks😊

    • Julie you are right about the Kon Mari method! We did this method to the letter about 5 years ago and this is just us re-grouping after setbacks. But regarding time, you'd be surprised how much you can get through in 15 minutes! I was! Thanks for your thoughtful feedback :)

  • So real and honest! Kids are adorable.

  • I used the tiny scanner app and Amazon photo space to get rid of all of my photos! I also scanned kids artwork, documents, cards, poems..... they are all in the Apple cloud, on Amazon and on my iPad. This is a great way to make sure that if your house burns down, you won’t lose those precious pictures.

  • I have been looking for a bunk bed that is small like what you have.. where did you buy it if I may ask?

    • It’s IKEA! Very cheap and sturdy but the top bunk can only old 100 pounds or less just FYI

  • Really enjoyed video but annoying music offputting

  • Hey Laura, I like your channel and just subscribed ❤️. Please check my new channel out and subscribe if you don't mind. Thank you in advance 🙏🏼🙏🏼.

  • Kids are too cute

  • Love how realistic your videos are, new subscriber here 🙋🏻‍♀️

  • Super tips.

  • I don't understand the purpose of having the kids get rid of all their posters? Couldn't keep their favorite one up? Not attacking, I don't have kids, just curious = ]

    • My toddler daughter ripped all of my son's posters at the bottom and he was happy to take them off the walls! He wasn't into super heros anymore and had 0 attachment to them. I promise I would not have made him do that if he still liked them!

  • what is that tape you were using to hang the picture frames on the walls? :O

  • I love the concept of trying to show everything you did in one video but I was left a little confused about what you did with things. did you get rid of? store elsewhere? what. Like your pictures and your son's posters, does he not get any wall art now? what about all the stuff on your end tale? when you were showing them off none of them looked like something I would toss but you don't show them going somewhere else just that they are not there anymore. it's a little scattery, maybe you should have broken this down into multiple videos so you could explain more of what you are doing for each room. most of the reason I like these videos are for ideas that might work for me but yours goes to fast or is not explained so I am left not really getting anything out of your video. sorry

    • +Laura Hoyda I will definitely check it out :) also I did like the music in the background, it was nice and upbeat

    • Hi girl, yes, I posted a month's worth of videos and this is a shortened compilation of all the videos. There is a playlist on my channel of 30 days of decluttering explaining what happened to everything I discarded if you'd like to check it out!

  • This was great

  • WOW... big project.. how did you kept yourself going? I tend to get overwhelmed ...

    • " how do you eat an elephant? Bite by bite " is one of my favourite sayings to remind myself when I feel overwhelmed

    • A little every day really helped!

  • Not a fan of the music

  • Such a cool video, very satisfying to see the progress you can make in just 15 minutes a day!

    • ClutterBug same repetitive hacks

    • 😱 So excited to see your comment! You to me are who Peter Walsh is to you 😊😊😊 I have gratefully absorbed all of your content for years. You’ve given me so much inspiration...on this challenge, on US-tv, on keeping a home etc. I love the way you do what you do! Thank you! 😘

  • This is good for a first purge though. You can still purge more in your next set.

  • What did you do with your photos?

    • I have them in a box and I am going to sort them chronologically and scan them onto my hard drive. It’s a project I’ve been putting off but need to do!

  • Did u even get rid of any Tupperware, I mean u didn't show

    • Only a couple of things! But recently half this drawer is being used to store LEGO and it’s in sons bedroom.

  • For being a minimalist you still have so many things? Not being rude but the concept is to live with minimal things. Still enjoyed the video

    • Personally, as a minimalist myself, I own way less than she does. However, i'm the only person living in my apartment. Minimalism is living with things that you need and love. There's no number to how many things you can/should own!

    • That's all a matter of opinion! We have fewer things than we've ever had so like I say, we are on the path towards minimalism. I think for 4 humans and a dog we have few things but I respect that you disagree!

  • I stuff my bags in an empty Kleenex box. Great video ‘

  • I really liked the way you edited this :) ❤️

  • this has been a process I have been working on this past year, my phone is so clean- I put all the apps in one folder and swipe right and search for the app. So my main screen is this folder, messenger and phone So love it!

  • I like a good before and after. This didn’t seem to be a well organized montage.

  • The time taken to fold plastic bags into triangles (!) why not have one of those dispensers that you just stuff them in and pull out one at a time? And then they are so far back under the cabinet, seems like a chore to get to them. Otherwise, applaud your efforts!

    • You know what I thought the same but it is so addictive to fold the bags and I haven’t stopped doing it! Super easy to throw in my purse too. It’s much better for me than the dispenser. Weird, I know!

  • Oh I love this sooo much - I have been documenting a similar series - one space per week - on my channel. I'm at the beginning of of my journey though - soooo far to go. I am so glad I found you - you've inspired me and encouraged me to keep going. I look forward to sharing this journey with you. xo Mel

  • really enjoying your video but i have no idea why but when i saw your paper towels in your pantry i really wanted there to be a wine rack or something similar so that you could use that small space better and easier to grab them....just a thought =)

    • Such a good idea! Thank you Leah!!

  • How would you ask your mum and dad to do declutter togother, when they are moderate hoarders?

    • +Laura Hoyda i decluttered my room, but ny mum didn't let me throw or guve away

    • Good question. The Mari Kondo book says you can only declutter your own space and hope it inspires others to do the same 🤷‍♀️

  • Did your kids feel sad about getting rid of their posters and stuff?

    • No! I asked Charlie about it first. His sister ripped them up at the bottom before we took them down and he wasn't sad. He wasn't attached and is looking forward to painting and something new. I don't think I'd have had the heart to do it if it would make him sad!

  • Yes I fold my bags into triangles. Everyone thinks in crazy for doing it

    • You’re not crazy, it’s seriously satisfying and addictive!

  • Wow, good job. Wondering what was in the Emergency bag? Best wishes :)

  • 👍🏻

  • First video I've seen of yours. Amazing what you can accomplish in just 15 minutes a day!

    • Thank you so much! Yes, I agree!

  • i really like the video and the music!!

  • Loved this video! I like the idea of decluttering a little bit every day 👌

  • You are SO amazing! It's hard to be motivated when you see perfectly timed and rehearsed US-tv videos where someone who doesn't have kids n dog etc. just does the video for sake of views but you are so real! This video needs 1 million views! This is how real people declutter! Awesome job! 😀😄😁

    • +Laura Hoyda it's true! You did an amazing job with kids and a dog! Keep it up! 🤗

    • Aw thank you Nina! Your comment made my day! It is real life, that's for sure :)

  • This was so satisfying to watch. Great job

  • What is your emergency kit for and what is in it. Great video x

  • I just found your channel & really enjoyed your video. We live in Ohio & recently moved after living in our last house for 30 yrs. Our new house is smaller & I am trying to be more of a minimalist.

    • Thank you for your comment Jill! Sounds like we are on the same page!

  • Amazing!!! Great work Laura!

  • I loved watching these, I lost you somewhere half way though lol, I'm gonna have to go back and watch... I used the bag folding thing after you did it, it's insane how much space it saves! Plus it's actually super relaxing haha, maybe I need to find more hobbies 😂

    • Thank you!! It is so true about the plastic bags. I thought I'd stop doing it but I enjoy doing it every time I bring home a bag, lol!

  • Wow, Laura, you’re just amazing! What perseverance you showed - I do decluttering but never have I done 30 days! Your home must have such a good feel to it (it’s certainly beautiful). Very inspiring!👍🏽🌸

    • Thank you so much Sheena! It does feel so much better but I still feel like there is much room for improvement. Baby steps! 30 days was a bit exhausting but I hope if I do it more regularly it won't be so bad.

  • Inspiring!
